Well, it happened to me last weekend when I was leaving for a long holiday weekend. I had driven nearly 10 miles and suddenly realized that I couldn\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t remember if I saw the garage door finish closing, so I turned around and went back home to check. When I got home, I discovered that the door was indeed shut \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 phew! But now I was 30 minutes behind schedule \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 not so happy about that!<\/p>\n<p>The annoyance of this episode prompted me to search for a <a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/outgoing\/www.diycontrols.com\/c-201-housevolve-home-mgmt.aspx');\"  href=\"http:\/\/www.diycontrols.com\/c-201-housevolve-home-mgmt.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">home automation system<\/a> that could tell me if the garage door was open or shut <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">and<\/span> give me the ability to shut it without having to drive all the way back home.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Let\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s face it, there are all kinds of obvious <a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/outgoing\/www.familyhomesecurity.com\/garage-door-security-the-basics\/');\"  href=\"http:\/\/www.familyhomesecurity.com\/garage-door-security-the-basics\/\" target=\"_blank\">reasons why you don\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t want to leave your garage door open<\/a>, including security, risk of freezing pipes, and the effect that outdoor temperatures can have on your heating and cooling system. You don\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t even need a smart phone or an iPhone or Bluetooth.
